Norma Gene Selby
Funeral services for Norma Gene Selby, 90, Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Reydon Community Church.
Mrs. Selby died Saturday, May 3, 2014.
She was born April 3, 1924 in Asher, the daughter of Austin Raymond Davis and Maude Garrison Davis.
She grew up on a farm near Crawford and graduated with the Crawford Class of 1941. On Oct. 29, 1941, she married William Nelson Selby, and they made their home in the Reydon and Crawford area until 1952 when the family moved to Borger, Texas.
In 1953, they bought a home in Phillips, Texas where they lived until her husband retired in 1975 and then they moved house and all to the family farm near Reydon.
Due to poor health they moved to Clinton in 1994 to be near her family. She joined the United Pentecostal Church in 1949. She was a stay-at-home mom.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 62 years, Nelson Selby; a son, Jackie Ray Selby; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; a sister, Easter Davis; and a brother, Ray Davis.
Survivors include a son, Roy Nelson Selby and his wife, Bonnie, Borger, Texas; two daughters, Reta Hall and her husband, Eugene, Clinton, Reba Helms and her husband, Steve, Monroe, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Selby, Pampa, Texas; seven grandchildren, Billy McCoy, Durham, Raylene Ray and her husband, Tony, Foss, Gena Morley, Clinton, Thurston Selby and his wife, Ashley, Ladonia, Texas, Wallace Selby, Chadron, Neb., Austin Selby and his wife, Shelly, Stinnett, Texas, and Dr. Elwyn Martin, La Grande, Ore.; 16 great grandchildren, Travis McCoy, Whitney Peach, Katy and Justin Ray, Ricky and Ethan Selby, Logan, Lexi, and Landon Donelson, Maci Morley, Elaine, Thurston, David, Daniel, Kailyn, and Warne Selby, and two great-great-grandsons, Travis and Isaac McCoy.
Burial will be at Silent Home Cemetery, under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Elk City.
