Funeral services will be held for Norma Jean Gemaehlich, 91, lifelong Clinton resident, at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.
She died Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton.
Norma Jean (Leman) Gemaehlich was born May 13, 1927, to Orell Leman and Nellie Josephine (Smith) Leman in Clinton. She was raised in Clinton and for a short time during her high school years lived in California, before returning to Clinton to graduate in 1945.
She married Leroy Gemaehlich Dec. 6, 1947, and they made their home in Clinton.
Gemaehlich was employed at the Oklahoma General Hospital as obstetrician ward clerk for several years, and then worked with Dr. Harold Tisdal for more than 23 years as his receptionist.
She was a member of the First Church of God. Gemaehlich enjoyed working outside in her yard and garden, going camping, and spending time at Foss Lake and camping in Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Richard; and two sisters, Billie Jo Arnold and Patricia Vargus.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen Gemaehlich and wife Toni of Clinton, David Gemaehlich of Weatherford, and Michael “Mickey” Gemaehlich and wife Kim of Valparaiso, Ind.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Bryan Bohnert and wife Charla, Shane Gemaehlich and wife Jennifer, Logan Gemaehlich, Michael Glancy, Michael Gemaehlich and Jordan Pulido and wife Sarah, T.J. Williams and husband Dustin, Tami Gemaehlich, and Keri Mitchel and husband Nickalous.
The service will be officiated by Dustin Stottman. A private burial will be held at Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
