Funeral services will be held for Mary Bell Thomas, 86, of Weatherford at 2 p.m. today in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
She died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at her home in Weatherford.
Thomas was born March 25, 1932, in Cordell to A.P. and Hilda Mary (Meyer) Schmidt. She was raised and attended school in Clinton and graduated from high school in 1950.
On May 24, 1950, she married Beryl Thomas in Clovis, N.M. She was an active Air Force wife and moved with her husband to El Paso, Texas, Hadley, England, Lee Center, N.Y., Clinton and Snyder, before settling in Weatherford in 1976.
Thomas served as president over Lottie Moon Circle for more than 20 years. She enjoyed music, church activities, volunteering in the Family Life Center, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, LaVeta; and one daughter, Maryl.
Survivors include three sons, Steven Thomas and wife Tammy of Atlanta, Ga., Mark Thomas and wife Linda of Bethany, and Clint Thomas and wife Vilija of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Karen Harris of Weatherford; one brother, Irvin Schmidt of Clinton; and two sisters, Betty Jo Hill and husband Jim of Clinton, and Joyce Manning of Las Cruces, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weatherford.
The service will be officiated by Earl Stephenson, followed by interment at Hydro Masonic Cemetery.
