A mass of Christian burial for Jesus Gutiérrez, 70, Clinton resident, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton, officiated by Father Thomas Paduto.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church
Gutierrez died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born May 6, 1944 in Durango, Mexico, the son of Thomas and Ignacia (Ortiz) Gutierrez.
He was raised in Mexico, where he attended school and had worked doing day and farm labor. He moved to the United Stated of America in 1970.
Gutierrez traveled extensively, living in several states and working many jobs. He settled in Clinton in 1979, worked at Collins and Aikman Factory, did cotton farm labor and worked for Bar-S Foods for 15 years before retiring in 2009.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Tobias.
Survivors include his wife, Adelina (Orozco) Gutierrez, of the home; six daughters, Ma Francisca Gutierrez and her husband, Efrain Quezada Barrios, of Mexico, Maria Solis and her husband, Pedro, of Oklahoma City, Monica Gutierrez, of Clinton, Maria De Jesus, of Clinton, Alba Velasquez and her husband, Rodrigo, of Clinton and Adelena Orozco and her husband, Jose Garcia, of Clinton; his sons, Roberto Gutierrez and his wife, Mayela, of Oklahoma City and Jose, of California; two sisters, Eva Gutierrez Ortiz and her husband, Cristoforo Nunez, and Lucina Gutierrez Ortiz, all of Mexico; two brothers, Hugo, of South Bend, Ind. and Pedro and his wife, Cristina, of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Maria Orozco Santoyo, of Mexico; 33 grandchildren including Roberto Gutierrez of Clinton; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
