Graveside services for Ernest Burton, 94, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Stafford Cemetery in Stafford.
He died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Ernest Wesley Burton was born Aug. 26, 1923, to George Franklin and Martha M. (Moller) Burton in Asher. He attended Sequoah School.
He moved to Clinton in 1930, to Claremore in 1936, and then to California in 1940. In 1995 he returned to Stafford. He had also lived in South Lake Tahoe, Nev., where he married Shirley (Babcock) Stocks.
He worked as a farmer, in a wrecking yard, and as a security guard at the Blue Diamond Almonds factory.
He enjoyed doing yard work, fixing riding lawn mowers, and any outdoor activity.
Burton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Alfred Burton and Lee Burton; and three sisters, Mary Smith, Laura Crane and Annie Cook.
Survivors include two step-sons, Dale Stocks and wife Dovey of Red Bluff, Calif., and Dane Stocks of Germany; a step-daughter, Verna; and one granddaughter, Debbie Laudel of Modesto, Calif.
The service will be officiated by Rev. Buck Nicholson and under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
