Douglas Ray Watson died Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
He was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Comanche to Myrle and Buddy Watson. He attended school in Cheyenne and spent most of his life in western Oklahoma.
From 1977 until 1984 he lived in Elk City and then moved to Broken Arrow, where he lived until 1994. He then moved to Cordell, where he remained until his death.
Watson worked many years as a roughneck, and then at a pipe manufacturing company. In later years, he worked alongside his older brother.
One of Watson’s greatest joys was his children and grandchildren, and he was known for his ornery, fun nature and telling stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Watson.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Hasty; his sisters, Sondra Ootton, Marion Sipes and Karma Nees; and his younger brother, David Watson; three sons, Chris Watson and wife Paula of Choctaw, Justin Watson and Megan Semtner of Norman, and Zak Watson and wife Lisa Watson of Piedmont; eight grandchildren, Dakota Michelson, Madison Watson and Kegan Watson, Gabe Semtner, Bariah Watson and Charlee Watson, and Katelyn Watson and Benjamin Watson; and a step-father, Art Fanshier.
