Funeral services for Della Christian, 86, Cordell resident, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dill City First Baptist Church, with pastor Ron Roskam, officiating.
Mrs. Christian died Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Cordell. She was born on April 2, 1927, in Hobart, the daughter of George M. and Dorothy I. (Alexander) Green.
She was raised south of Hobart. She moved with her family to Dill City in 1936 and graduated from Dill City Schools in 1946.
She married Elton Christian on May 20, 1944 in Washita County in a double ceremony with their friends, Clifford and Belle Music. The Christians raised their family south of Dill City, where they farmed.
Mrs. Christian was a member of the Dill City First Baptist Church. She was a member of the woman’s Sunday school class and was chairman of the Fellowship Committee.
She was a member of the Holiday Rambler Camping Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George M. and Dorothy I. Green.
Survivors include her husband, Elton Christian of the home; a daughter, Charlotte Stehr and her husband, Norman, of Clinton; two sons, Steve Christian and his wife, Linda, of Dill City, and Dave Christian of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Opal Noble of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Molly Klump and her husband, Gale, of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Sherra Goodson, Charla Bohnert, Shane Stehr, Stephanie Thurman, Tonya Stafford, Colt Christian and Catee Christian; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in South Burns Cemetery, Dill City, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell.
