Verdict reached in Murder Trial

"It's been a long time coming. Justice for JaRay prevailed."

It took a Custer County jury less than 2 ½ hours of deliberations to find Tucker McGee, 20, guilty of first-degree murder with malice aforethought Tuesday night in the 2012 shooting death of Weatherford teenager JaRay Wilson.

The jury recommended life in prison without parole, the maximum sentence possible since McGee was 10 days away from his 18th birthday when he committed the crime.

“We searched for her for 14 months,” said JaRay’s mother, Jara Wilson. “We’re happy about it. To me he doesn’t deserve to be out. He took her away from us and he deserves to pay for it.”

“We got what we were looking for,” said JaRay’s father, Rodney Wilson. “It’s been a long time coming. Justice for JaRay prevailed.”
