Tornado Bowl work reported to be on track
Construction schedules for the new field turf and facility upgrades appear to be on schedule according to Clinton Public Schools Supt. Kevin Hime.
He said the new turf is expected to be installed in about two weeks. There is a target date to have the field completely ready to play March 1 for the beginning of Clinton High School’s soccer season. The middle school soccer program plays at the Tornado Bowl as well and there will be spring football practices approaching.
In addition to the new playing surface, the Tornado Bowl will be receiving a new scoreboard as well.
Should inclement weather slow down the installation of the new scoreboard Hime said the company in charge of the project assured him they would put up a temporary scoreboard to cover the situation until the new one can be put into place at the southern end of the facility.
The concession stand is also going through a remodel to accomodate the new scoreboard.
