Clinton head wrestling coach Shawn Finch will not be back to defend the Reds’ school record, four straight district titles. The fifth-year coach made the Clinton wrestlers aware Thursday that he would be headed to Noble pending board approval.

Facing elimination, Clinton baseball (17-14 overall) bowed their necks and gutted out a game two win to extend the Bi-District championship series to Friday with an 8-4 win Thursday at home.
Head coach Kelly Gaunt credited the team’s grit, as well as Conor Wyer and J.J. Brown’s performances in the win.

Another big check from the Davis-McElmurry Charitable Trust has been presented, this one for $105,000 to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
As reported last month by the Clinton Daily News, it pushes total contributions to OMRF from the trust to more than $1 million.
