Spring baseball, Class B regional champ Arapaho-Butler baseball (1-0) got its summer season off to a winning start with a 10-2 thrashing of Vici Thursday.
The Indians posted six zeroes on the mound with four different pitchers. On offense, the bats stayed patient recording eight walks and nine hits.

Scholarship money was offered to 48 students in Clinton High School’s Class of 2017. The lion’s share was offered to the two top recipients, Jose Diosdado and Nathan Davis, followed by Destiny Lindsey, Celeste Carrizales, Ka Neisha Jackson, Leticia Ortiz and Mitchell Hunter rounding out the top seven.     

Shot twice in the Vietnam War and once left for dead atop a pile of other men’s bodies, the last battle Langburn Fisher Jr. fought was here at home.

Funeral services will be held for Billie Joyce “B.J.” Clay, 73, of Shamrock, Texas, at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock.
