ONLY MINOR INJURIES were reported following an accident approximately three-fourths of a mile south of Interstate 40 on US Highway 183. The driver of this pick-up, Rodney Brown, is shown talking to Clinton Police Sgt. Miguel Gonzales following the incident. Sgt. Gonzales said Brown was north bound on US 183 just before 8 a.m. Monday when he slammed in to a pick-up, driven by Sammy Dudgbon, which failed to yield when leaving a private drive. THESE BUSINESSWOMEN, well girls actually, are among Girl Scouts of all ages from the Clinton Service Unit of the Sooner Council who are out seeking customers for their yummy cookies. The annual cookie sales drive started Jan. 1, with one new variety - cartwheels boasting a burst of cinnamon - and a revamped chocolate fudge shortbread cookie that is stamped with a thank-you message in five different languages. FIREWORKS have been blamed for a number of wildfires across the state. Clinton Fire Chief Wade Anders issued a reminder today to area residents that fireworks are covered under the burn ban. AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION recently honored Integris Clinton Regional Hospital for its role in the 2005 Custer County Heart Walk. The hospital was the presenting sponsor for this year's walk. Each year Custer County raises thousands of dollars for the Heart Association. This year Custer County raised a record high of more than $41,000 for the organization that targets education, research and health care efforts for victims of heart attacks and strokes.
