CAUSING QUITE A STIR as they lumbered through town Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 183 were two large tanks being transported, according to anonymous reports, by Truckers Express of Tulsa. The tanks were reportedly made by Express Metal in Big Cabin and were bound for the Premcor Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas. It is thought that the tanks were probably ordered before Hurricane Rita hit that area of Texas. Emergency personnel and power line crews from both PSO and Kiwash Electric were pressed into service to assure that the grossly oversized loads made it safely through. A DOG LEADING A DOG might fall under that "I thought I'd seen everything" adage, but that was the case this morning at Acme Brick Park where McGruff the Crime Dog had Ciro, a drug-sniffing canine with the Weatherford Police Department, on a leash.
