Cora Evylene (Ramsey) Ray
Funeral services for Cora Evylene (Ramsey) Ray, 83, Foss resident, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, officiated by Patrick Peters.
Mrs. Ray died Wednesday, April 24, 2014, in her Foss home. She was born March 26, 1931, to John Valentine and Cora Rachel (Willis) Valentine.
Mrs. Ray was raised in Butler, and she graduated from Butler High School in 1949.
She married James Marvis Ray on Dec. 20, 1950, in Arapaho. They made their home in Butler where they farmed for a short time and then moved to California.
They farmed in California and then moved back to Oklahoma, settling back in Butler in 1959.
Mrs. Ray worked for several years in a local nursing home and also did home health care until her retirement.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James, in May of 1988; three sisters, Alberta Cravens, Hazel Patton and Louise Hanson; and two brothers, John Ramsey Jr. and Lawrence Ramsey.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane Lindsey and Jose Ornelas, Woodward, Rachel Ray, Salt Lake City, Utah, Cora Marlene Collins and her husband, Joe, Middleburg, Fla., and Kathy Ray, Shattuck; and two sons, Mike Ray and his wife, Sandra, Delta, Colo., and Lonnie Marvin Ray and his wife Jolene, Foss; a sister, June Shaull and her husband, Ben, of California; a brother, Don Ramsey and his wife, Betty, of Mulvane, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Burial will conclude in the Butler Cemetery.
