Clara (Penner) Goossen
Funeral services for Clara (Penner) Goossen, 96, of Corn, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Gardner.
Clara Goossen was born March 2, 1917, in Colony, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Jackson) Penner. She died early Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn.
She was as raised in Colony and Corn and graduated from Corn Public Schools and then continued her education at Corn Bible Academy.
She married George Goossen, and they farmed together in Corn their whole married life.
He preceded her in death, and she had been a resident of the Corn Heritage Village since 1994.
She was a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, six sisters and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Hixon and her husband, Larry, of Tulsa; three sons, Bob Goossen and his wife, Wanda, of Clinton, Will Goossen and his wife, Bobbie, of Arvada, Colo. and Phil Goossen and his wife, Dena, of Hydro; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Burial will conclude in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Corn, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, of Clinton.
