Services set for Coleman Johnson

Funeral services for Coleman R. Johnson, age 78 of Lawton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the University Church of Christ at Lawton with Mike Bentley, minister, officiating.Johnson died Sunday in Oklahoma City. He was born on June 28, 1929 in Ahpeatone, the son of Francis Ross and Nena G. (Phillips) Johnson. He married Denzil Shuffleburg on Sept. 4, 1954 in Walters and earned a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma the same year. Starting with the Social Security Administration on Feb. 25, 1955, he rose to district manager of southwest Oklahoma and received the Bartlett Award for Humanitarian Service in Government, Social Security’s highest award, in 1984. He retired in July of 1984. Johnson served two terms on the Lawton City Council starting in 1986. He was a longtime Kiwanis member, serving as lieutenant governor. Johnson was on the board of directors for the Center for Creative Living and had served as the head of the United Way. He was active as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at University Church of Christ and had taught for the Oklahoma State University Farm and Business Tax Institute for 41 years. After receiving a heart transplant in 1994, he served as an ambassador for organ transplantation and worked as a tax preparer until shortly before his death. Burial will be in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home in Lawton. Survivors include his wife of the home; 2 daughters, Sandra Clarke and her husband, Jimmy, of Pasadena, Texas, Debra Dick and her husband, Duane, of Clinton; 2 brothers, Tom Ross Johnson and his wife, Evonne, Calvin Johnson, all of Lawton; 4 grandchildren, Brett and Matt Mahan of Pasadena, Texas, Greg Mahan of Dallas, Texas and Justin Dick of Clinton; and 2 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Reed and his wife, Shirley, of Dallas, Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents and 3 sisters, Kate Nicholson, Virginia Nadine Taranto and Bobbie Sasser. Whiteshirt services set

Funeral services for Cheneya Ann Whiteshirt, age 27 of Clinton, will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in the Watonga Multi Purpose Center, 1305 S. Nash, Watonga.An all night wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, also at the center in Watonga. Whiteshirt died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. She was born on June 9, 1980, the daughter of Oveta Whiteshirt and William Terran at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Reared in Dallas, Texas until the family moved to Watonga in 1991, she attended Watonga Public Schools, and in 1997 was selected to attend the NASA Space Camp at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. She participated in the Watonga Middle School and High School Band and graduated in 1998. Whiteshirt served as the Barefoot Pow Wow Princess in 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1997. She was a sister of the Elk and Bowstring Society Clan. She was baptized in the Episcopal Church in Watonga and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford for two years. She gave birth to a son, Trevor Rae Whiteshirt-Wilson, on May 5, 2000, and he preceded her in death. She had been employed by Lucky Star Casino in Clinton until her death. Burial will conclude in the Watonga Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Resthaven Funeral Home of Oklahoma City. Graveside services for Jimmie Floyd Milligan, age 67 of Oklahoma City, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Jessie Musick officiating.Milligan was born April 15, 1940 in Vian, the son of Henry and Gladys (Johnson) Milligan. He died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in his Oklahoma City home. Reared in Shawnee, he graduated from Shawnee High School in 1958 and had made his home in Shawnee, Stilwell and Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 30, 1960 and served during the Vietnam era before being honorably discharged on Dec. 14, 1963. Married to Bobbie Jean Hoffman on Sept. 24, 1975 in Norman, he had worked in the insurance business most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, Henry Milligan and Sammy Pierson. Burial will conclude under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie, of the home; two daughters, Mary Milligan and Amanda Milligan, both of Mississippi; three sons, Mitchell Milligan and Kelly Milligan, both of New Mexico, Johnny Cheney of Mississippi; three sisters, Daisy Neff, Georgia Cox and Vadia Ross, all of Stilwell; two brothers, Doug and Charles Milligan, both of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Heinrichs services set

Funeral services for Paul J. Heinrichs, age 87 and a lifelong Corn resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Ken Gardner and Rev. Tim Sandy officiating.Heinrichs died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. He was born May 25, 1920 on a farm three miles west of Colony, the son of J.B. and Mary (Suderman) Heinrichs. The family moved two miles south of Corn in 1929 where he resided for the next 52 years before moving into Corn in 1981. Attending school at Pleasant View and Corn Bible Academy, he graduated from Corn High School in 1939. As a young man, Heinrich joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in Corn, and he was a lifelong member. He married Viola Grace Flaming in Premont, Texas in January of 1941. They were married for more than 66 years. While farming was his livelihood, Heinrichs spent several years as a custom combiner and in recent years had pursued oil and gas interests. He once also owned the Corn Café. Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were four brothers, Sam, J.E. Menno and Allen; three sisters, Anna Thiessen, Agnes Nikkel and Linda Harms; a son, Clifford; and a great granddaughter, Brandi Starkweather. Burial will follow in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Viola; a son, Jay Heinrichs and his wife, Martha, of Sand Springs; a daughter, Betty Lyle and her husband, Gary, of Weatherford; five grandchildren, Todd Heinrichs of Tulsa, Sherri Heinrichs of Broken Arrow, Kelley Myers of Owasso, Mary Rindler of Oklahoma City, Kerry Myers of Weatherford; four great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Heinrichs of Hillsboro, Kan. and Lillian Heinrichs of Corn.

Millspaugh rites set

Funeral services for Boothe Elizabeth (Charlton) Millspaugh, age 89 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday in the Meacham Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Hall officiating.Millspaugh was born in Hollis on Jan. 25, 1918, the daughter of Howard and Hildreth (Jones) Charlton. She died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the Grace Living Center in Clinton. Boothe’s grandfather was Dr. J. E. Jones, the founder of Hollis where she was reared and attended her school years. She continued her education at the former Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater where she studied art and home economics. In 1942 she married Johnny Millspaugh. After World War II, they moved to Clinton where they spent the rest of their lives. Organizations she has been involved in include Junior Service League (of which she was the oldest member), Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Clinton Literary Club and Arts Council. Most recently she had been a Red Hatter. She also was the last of the original charter member of the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital Auxiliary, having volunteered for more than 45 years with more than 12,000 hours of service. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, including the church’s Just Older Youth (J.O.Y.) Choir. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, James Charlton. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Family will greet guests at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Johnny; two children, Stephen Millspaugh and his wife, Rose, of Weatherford, Johnna Roberts and her husband, Gregg, of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Leslie Millspaugh of Cambridge, Md., Ashley Roberts of Kansas City, Mo.; and two step-grandchildren, J.L. Forke of Dallas, Texas, Paul Lambert of Livingston, Texas; and a great granddaughter. The family has suggested that memorial contributions in Boothe’s honor may be made to the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

Services set for LoVecchio

Funeral services for Joseph Victor LoVecchio, 60, Weatherford, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church. LoVecchio died Oct. 6, 2007, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on Aug. 8, 1947, to Salvador Victor and Frances Lavonta (Shahan) LoVecchio in Clinton. He was raised and attended school in Waverly, N.Y., graduating in 1965. He moved to Weatherford to attend Southwestern State College, graduating with degree in psychology. He married Patricia Nutry at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church on Jan. 9, 1970. The couple moved to Elmira, N.Y., where he was director of the Food Stamp Program. The couple also worked for the New York State Division for Youth as house parents for delinquent boys. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1972, where he worked for the Oklahoma State Methadone Center. It was during this period that LoVecchio was able to write and record some of his music. In 1979, they moved back to Weatherford where he was the drug coordinator for western Oklahoma. In 1981, LoVecchio received his Masters in Psychology from SWOSU and worked at New Horizons for 15 years. He continued his education through California Coast University, obtaining his Ph.D. in Psychology and devoted himself to his private practice. He became certified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and was certified by the National Association of Forensic Counselors for many specialties. LoVecchio was also a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He focused on many diverse areas including alcohol and drug counseling, child custody, domestic violence, stress coping skills and presented many seminars and trainings on a variety of topics. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Kevin LoVecchio. LoVecchio is survived by his wife, Patricia LoVecchio of the home; his mother, Francis LoVecchio, of Norman; three daughters, Kimberly Jo Page and her husband, Derek, of North Hollywood, Calif., Kristy Lynn Raymond and her husband, Jason, of Patterson, Calif., Jamie Lee LoVecchio of Weatherford; three brothers, Kenneth LoVecchio and his wife, April, of San Diego, Calif., Keith LoVecchio of Wichita, Kan., and William Michael LoVecchio and his wife, Robyn, of Newcastle; and three sisters, Diana Gabbert and her husband, Tim, of Williamsburg, Va., Toni Nail and her husband, Bryan, of Oklahoma City, and Elaine Green of Norman; and several nieces and nephews. Pastor Gil Mueller will officiate the services and burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery, south of Weatherford, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Gorshing rites set

Funeral services for Esther D. Gorshing, 93, of Clinton will be held 10 a.m., Thursday in the Peace Lutheran Church. She died early Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. Mrs. Gorshing was born April 17, 1914, in Bessie to George and Justina (Keil) Dick and grew up the youngest of 10 children. She was baptized and confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church. She graduated from Bessie High School in l933. On Feb. 21, 1938, she married Roy J. Gorshing in the Peace Lutheran Church and they made their home in Oklahoma City until l945 when Roy entered the service. Esther and her two children moved back to Bessie and she worked as a cook at the Bessie School for seven years. She worked at the Western Oklahoma T.B. Sanitarium, and then went to work for T.G.& Y. in l963. She retired in l976. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001, five sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Rudonna Goeringer and husband Larry of Clinton; her son Gary Gorshing of Weatherford; six grandchildren, Scott Goeringer of Alexandria, Va., Michelle Ryan of Elliott City, Md., Shara Garmon of Cordell, Chad Gorshing of Oklahoma City, and Tyler and Millie Gorshing of Weatherford; and six great-grandchildren. Russ Lambert will conduct the services and burial will conclude in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Cleatus Crabb, age 95 of Dill City, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Dill City with Ron Roskam officiating.Crabb died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at his home. He was born on March 26, 1912, at Foss, the son of James and Bessie Crabb. In 1941, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a warrant officer until 1946. It was in 1946 that he met and married Marie Roberts, and they moved to Amarillo, Texas where they made their home. He worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. in the parts department until his retirement. After his wife’s health began to fail, the Crabbs moved in with a niece and nephew, A.C. and Betty Johnson of Dill City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph; and a sister, Audrey Copelin. Burial will be in the Erick Cemetery under the direction of the Loftiss-Lee Funeral Home in Cordell. Nieces and nephews survive, including A.C. and Betty Johnson of Dill City, Billy and Bonnie Bookout of Dill City, Bobby and Barbara Jones of Seminole, Ed and Linda Copelin of Norman, Gene and Treva Hill of Yukon, Don and Inez Copeland of Yukon, Ronald and Shannon Sopelin of Yukon and June Copelin of Colorado.

A mass of Christian burial for Kathleen Mary Moore, age 81 of Weatherford, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church in Weatherford with Father Mark Mason officiating.A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Kathleen Mary (Burns) Moore died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford. She was born on Feb. 21, 1926 in East Boston, Mass., the daughter of John and Martha (Diskin) Burns. Reared in Boston, she attended school there until she was around 15 and then moved to Long Beach, Calif. She married Harold I. Moore on July 15, 1945 in Long Beach. While he served in the Army, they had their homes in Texas, Kansas and California. At the conclusion of his military service, they remained in California where they made their homes in Long Beach and China Lake. They retired and moved back to Oklahoma in 1999 and settled in Weatherford to be near their son, S.K. Harold J. Moore. She was a member of the Catholic Church and had been a member of the Altar Society and the Emblem Club in Ridgecrest, Calif. Preceding her in death, along with her parents, were nine brothers and sisters (two in infancy), including Jack Burns, Tommy Burns, Pat Burns, Eddie Burns, Martha Conner, Helen Parziale and Millie Tuccairone. Burial will conclude in the Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include her husband, Harold; a son, S.K. Harold J. Moore and his wife, Dell, of Weatherford; and a granddaughter, Kathleen R. Moore of Weatherford.

Bryan Cooksey rites set

Funeral services for Bryan Keith Cooksey, age 19 and a 2006 Clinton High School alumnus, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday in the First Baptist Church with Shane Hall and Pat Peters officiating.Bryan died early Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, in the University of Oklahoma Medical Center Presbyterian Tower at Oklahoma City as the result of an automobile accident. He was born July 8, 1988 in Altus, the son of Gary L. and Susan Fran (Tant) Cooksey. Bryan was reared for the first 10 years in Mangum where he started school. He moved to Clinton when he was in the fourth grade and attended the Clinton Schools until his graduation in 2006. He was active in wrestling, Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, FFA and honors math classes. He had continued his education Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, where he was in his second year at the time of his death. Having recently joined the U.S. Navy, he was waiting to go to basic training. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include his parents, Gary and Susan Cooksey of the home; a son, Tyson Blayne Cooksey of Clinton; four sisters, Tammie Cooksey of Dallas, Texas, Susan Cooksey of Nashville, Tenn., Candy Leaper of Wichita Falls, Texas, Debbie Gallant of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Bret Cooksey, and his wife, Anita, of Minco, Todd Cooksey and his wife, Tiffany, of Stillwater; his maternal grandmother, Louise Tant of Canton, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Fred Andrews, age 40 of Durham, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Pentecostal Church in Cheyenne with pastor Charlie Wright officiating.Freddie Merl Andrews was born Jan. 1, 1967, in Woodward, the son of Earl Leon and Connie Sue (Mott) Andrews. He was the New Year’s baby in Woodward County. He died early Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Andrews attended school in Cheyenne. He joined the Army National Guard in 1984 and served with the 1/171 FA for 6 years. After his honorable discharge, he worked at OK Fireworks in Tulsa and then went into construction and selling Christmas trees. Burial will conclude in the Strong City Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include by his wife, Heather, three sons, Takota, Robert, Dale, and a daughter, Nichole, all of the Durham home; another daughter, Suzanne, of Tulsa; four brothers, Eddie, and his wife, Angela, Richard and Jerry, all of Tulsa, Jessie and his wife, Katherine, of Foss; sisters, Penolope Ridourie and her husband, Norman, Tersea Foulk and her husband, J.R., and Wanda Calico and her husband, Randal, all of Springdale, Ark. A double funeral for Tara Lynn “Baby Girl” (White Crow) De La Rosa, age 24, and her 3-year-old son, Adrian “Booger,” will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, in the First Baptist Church at Elk City with Rev. Cathy Daingkau, Rev. Jake Swallow, Rev. Ramus Hicks and Rev. Paul Beartrack officiating. An all night wake service will be held Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church, 18th and Hayes in Clinton. Tara was born on April 22, 1983 in Clinton, the daughter of Emilio Lopez and Chloe Ann White Crow. Adrian was born Oct. 3, 2003, in Elk City, the son of Frank, Jr. and Tara De La Rosa. Tara and Adrian died early Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, as the result of a drowning and vehicle accident at Elk City Lake. Tara grew up in Elk City and graduated from Emily Griffith School in Denver, Colo. She was attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre studying business administration at the time of her death. She married Frank De La Rosa in 2004, and they had lived in Elk City since that time. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. O.J. Lowry funeral set

Funeral services for Orlan Jesse “O.J.” Lowry, age 88 of Weatherford, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Weatherford Church of Christ with Bruce Lewis officiating.Lowry died on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. He was born on Dec. 2, 1918 in Weatherford, the son of Jesse Hamilton and Elsie Mae (Pigg) Lowry. He was reared and attended school in Weatherford, graduating from Weatherford High School in 1936, going on to earn a degree in agronomy in 1941 from then Oklahoma A & M University in Stillwater. Lowry served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. While in the Air Corps, he received the Air Medal for bravery. On Nov. 5, 1943, he married Arra English in McAlester, and they made their home in Altus after the war, also going on to live in Carlsbad, N.M. and Amarillo, Texas. After retiring in 1975 they made their home in Weatherford. Lowry retired from farming at the age of 86. He was a deacon, elder and song leader in the Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Les Lewis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford. Survivors include three children, Jay Lowry and his wife, Brenda, of McKinney, Texas, Karen Lewis and her husband, Les, of Lubbock, Texas, Tim Lowry and his wife, Darla, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Heather Madrigal, Shannon Ng, Jessica Stone, Monica Curry, Rachel Tilley; and one great-granddaughter, Sabine Rose Madrigal. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; one son, Emory Wayne Lowry; one brother, Orvis Lowry; and two sisters, Twila Hastings and Doris Corley. Services held for Witcher

Funeral services for Alton Gale Witcher, age 80 of Weatherford, were scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, in the chapel of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford with Gary Witcher officiating.Witcher died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born March 31, 1927 in Vinson, the son of George and Robbie (Snider) Witcher. He was reared and attended school in Vinson, graduating in 1945, after which he joined the Army and served in the armored division at Fort Knox, Ky. After his honorable discharge in 1946 he attended the auto mechanics program at then Southwestern State College. Upon graduation he became an instructor and head of the department. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Loraine Royal in Hollis. He owned an auto garage and then a salvage yard, also having worked as a Weatherford police officer, Custer County deputy sheriff and U.S. Postal employee. Also involved in agriculture most of his life, he most recently had been working transporting calves from dairy farms to local cattlemen. Burial will follow in O.M. Cemetery, north of Hollis. Survivors include his wife, Loraine Witcher of the home in Weatherford; two sons, Gary Witcher and his wife, Amy, of Watertown, S.D. and Don Witcher of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Ruth Ann Tesic and her husband, Ivan, of Zapresic, Croatia; one brother, Joe Witcher and his wife, Billie, of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Jerry Witcher. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Gale’s honor may be made to the Church of Christ.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert A. Hoelker, age 99 and a Custer County resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton with Father Rex Arnold officiating.A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Hoelker died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the Grace Living Center in Clinton. He was born on July 15, 1908 in Anthon, the son of Herman and Mamie (Klein) Hoelker. Reared in the Anthon community, he attended school there, and he farmed on the family farm for several years before moving to Clinton in 1946. He continued his farming operation at Anthon, raising wheat and cattle until his retirement in 1988. A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. As an accomplished violinist, he formed a band with his brothers and a sister, and they played in years past for dances and social gatherings. Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were two brothers, Paul Hoelker and Louis Hoelker; and an infant sister, Esta. Burial will conclude in the Anthon Cemetery northwest of Custer City. Survivors include two sisters, Agnes Hoelker of Clinton, Clara Dunn and her husband, Robert, of Rogers, Ark.; and a brother, Devert Hoelker and his wife, Ernestine, of Custer City.

Davis funeral held

Graveside services for Bonnye June Davis, age 81 of Norman, were held Sept. 1 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.Davis died Aug. 29, 2007 at Purcell Municipal Hospital. She was born July 24, 1926 in Foss, the second of four children born to Walter Francis Lee and Melba Pearl Bailey Lee. She was reared in the communities of Foss, Butler and Clinton. After moving to the Oklahoma City area, she met and later married Roy Derrell Davis. She worked as a floral designer, seamstress and licensed hula instructor. Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy Derrell Davis, in 1987; one brother, R.B. Lee; and two grandsons, Christopher Delaney and Canaan Probst. Survivors include three daughters, Tamara Barnard and her husband, Terry Lee, of Norman, Michele Delaney and her husband, Bob, and Tonye Probst of Norman; two sons, Eric Davis of Boise, Idaho, Shaun Davis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Ruth Hibbler and her husband, Fred, of Oklahoma City; one brother, Dwayne Lee and his wife, Glenda, of Laverne, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Priscilla Janell McBrayer, age 31 of Amarillo, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bethany Baptist Church at Clinton with Rev. Billy Mucker officiating.McBrayer was born Nov. 16, 1975, in Clinton, the daughter of Frankie Lee Adair and Jewel McBrayer. She died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, in the Country Club Nursing Center at Amarillo, Texas. Growing up in Clinton, she was a 1993 alumna of Clinton High School. She continued her education in Lawton with the Job Corps and worked in a nursing home and for Wal-Mart in Lawton. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include a daughter, Desire McBrayer of Clinton; her father, Frankie, of El Reno and mother, Jewel, of Clinton; sisters Patricia Carter, Sherry Adair, and Sheila McBrayer, all of Clinton, Verna Riles and her husband, Floyd, of Amarillo, Texas; Shonda Cato and her husband, Larry, of Tulsa; and brothers Preston McBrayer of Amarillo, Frankie of Tulsa, Charles McBrayer, Gary Adair and Timothy McBrayer, all of Clinton.

Funeral services for Mae Belle Rogers, age 64 of Clinton, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Custer Avenue Church of Christ with Roy Montgomery, Sr., Robert Malone and Willie Lynch officiating.Rogers died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born on March 24, 1943 in Tipton, the daughter of Plez and Dora (Allen) Malone. Growing up in the Tipton-Frederick, area, she attended school there. She married Leonard Rogers on Aug. 16, 1960 at Altus, and the young couple moved to Clinton in 1961 where she went to work for the Tuberculosis Sanitarium. They moved to Oklahoma City for a time, and she worked at a hospital there. When they returned to Clinton, she continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and had worked for Head Start and as a substitute teacher at Nance Elementary School. Finally, she went to work in medical records at Clinton Regional Hospital, retiring in 1999. Preceding her in death were her parents. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include her husband, Leonard, of the home; four daughters, Linda Rogers, Mary Smith and her husband, Gary, all of Clinton, Lawand Rogers of Oklahoma City, Christi Hicks and her husband, Adrian, of Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Betty Gosier, Doris Dancer and Fay Abrams, all of Clinton; brothers, Plez, Jr., William, Robert, all of Clinton, John and Morris, both of Lancaster, Calif.; grandchildren, Leonard William Gary Smith, Jr., Willie Bowens, Amber Smith, Ashley Rogers, Mallori Smith, Adrian Hicks, Jr., Brooklyn Hicks; and one great grandchild to be born next month, Alyvia Gracie-Mae Williams.

Funeral services for Edwin Walter Neufeld, age 88 of Weatherford, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church at Weatherford with pastor Earl Stephenson officiating.Neufeld died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on April 20, 1919 southwest of Weatherford, the son of Pete and Anna (Friesen) Neufeld. He was reared and attended South Cedar School southwest of Weatherford, working on the family farm. In 1939 he started working as a mechanic, which he did for 20 years. On Feb. 29, 1940, Ed married Goldie Alice Flaming in Clinton, and they made their home in Weatherford. He owned and operated the Shoe Box for 10 years until he retired in 1969. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. Survivors include one son, Glen Neufeld and his wife, Marlene of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one brother, Clarence Neufeld and his wife, Arlene of Cordell; three sisters, Bonnie Schpansky of Clinton, Glennis Stedler of Oregon, and Denise Butler of Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Goldie in 1996; three brothers, Ervin, J.M., and Marvin Victor; four sisters, Marie, Nellie, Frieda, and Verna; one daughter, Shirley; and one granddaughter, Carrie Neufeld. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Weatherford.

McDuff services set

Chapel services for Antionette “Tonnie” Saunders-McDuff, age 67 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Buck Nicholson officiating.Tonnie was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Cordell, the daughter of George Paul and Martha Ann (Bartel) Weber. She died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in her Clinton home. McDuff grew up near Cowden before moving to Amarillo, Texas. She moved back to Oklahoma and lived in Cordell and Hobart, working as a nurse’s aide in several nursing homes. On July 23, 1979, she married Alvis McDuff, and they made their home in Clinton. She was a member of the Custer Avenue Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents. Burial will conclude in the Bible Mennonite Brethren Cemetery near Bessie. Survivors include her husband, Alvis, of the home; a sister, Elvina Louriere of Moore; and two nephews.
