Weatherford woman leads 120-mph chase
A Weatherford woman who allegedly led sheriff’s deputies on an extended chase at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour Thursday night appeared to be unconscious when the deputies found her wrecked car two miles north of Corn, but Sheriff Bruce Peoples said his men stabilized her until medical personnel could arrive and he thought she would be okay.
Angela Mendinghall, 35, was flown by helicopter to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A report by Trooper Michael Eckhardt of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol listed her condition Friday morning as stable with head, neck and internal injuries.
Peoples said the chase began after Ms. Mendinghall sped off the parking lot of Touchdowns, a drinking establishment at the south edge of Weatherford, almost hitting one of his deputies. He said they were there looking for her because she had several outstanding warrants and the man whose car she was driving wanted it back.
