Water rates, much more on city slate

A very long agenda awaits the Clinton City Council this evening at its first meeting in March.
Besides 20-percent across-the-board water rate increase, which were detailed in Saturday’s weekend edition of the Clinton Daily News, councilmen will deal with several other water issues including a proposed prelude to repairing the Clinton Lake treatment plant, a long-awaited flow report on an existing irrigation well at Riverside Golf Course, and a report on the feasibility of recycling treated wastewater from the sewer plant and adding it to the city’s regular water distribution system. A story about a meeting on the latter topic that City Manager Steve Hewitt and other staffers had with officials of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality was printed in Friday’s Daily News.
