New, old water rates

Water hikes in effect for next bills

Water bills Clinton residents receive the first of April will be 20 percent higher than those they got last month.

New rates reflecting an immediate increase were approved unanimously Tuesday night by city councilmen acting as trustees of the Clinton Public Works Authority. City Treasurer Debra Blanchard and City Manager Steve Hewitt said most of the increase was required because of hikes imposed by the Foss Reservoir Master Conservancy District, which is currently the city’s sole source of water.
