Tyler Bridges new assistant superintendent
et another area administrator is taking over a local position out of a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school system. The Clinton Board of Education has approved the hiring of Tyler Bridges, current superintendent of Pleasant Grove on the southeast edge of Shawnee, as Clinton’s new assistant superintendent.
Last week, Arapaho-Butler Public Schools announced it had hired Jay Edelen as its new superintendent, who is coming to this area from Pioneer, a pre-K through eighth school district in the Chickasha area.
Bridges said his school has about 300 students, 70 percent of whom have transferred into the district. Pleasant Grove, he said, is one of four K-8 districts in the Shawnee area. Shawnee is a Class 5A school district. Another fairly large district, about Clinton’s size, is located southwest of Shawnee at Tecumseh.
