Telephone use blamed for injury accident
Local resident Tamara Vazquez, 19, was transported to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital by Sinor Emergency Medical Service following an auto accident Wednesday morning in front of the old fire station.
Lt. Miguel Gonzales of the Clinton Police Department said Ms. Vazquez suffered body and leg injuries and a small cut on her forehead.
Gonzales said she was distracted by her phone and ran a red light while traveling westbound on Gary Boulevard at N. Sixth Street. Her 2013 Nissan Altima hit the right front of a 2003 Dodge 1500 pickup driven by Apolinar Lopez Salas, 63, also of Clinton, that was going north on Sixth.
