Sixth Street light must go, says council
That red light on Gary Boulevard at Sixth Street will be coming down. When, and who will remove it, haven’t been decided yet, though.
By a 4-1 margin, the Clinton City Council voted Tuesday to take down the light – which is one of the oldest in town – agreeing with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation that it’s no longer needed.
But Councilman Don Rodolph couldn’t understand why it was going to cost more than $14,000 just to get rid of it and another nearby light attached to the old fire station that was used when trucks needed to enter or exit the station.
