Rains don’t do much for bigger lakes
Sporadic rains over the past two or three weeks have done a lot to green up lawns and lift spirits, but they have done little to improve the outlook for the two lakes that Clinton formerly depended on as its primary and secondary water sources.
Ronnie Thompson, project manager at Foss Reservoir, said the big lake got about 2½ inches of rain during last week’s series of showers but they came in four different spurts accompanied by lots of wind.
“The winds have taken away anything we received at the lake,” he said. “It’s down 17.3 feet now.”
