Outdoor watering cut further
Outdoor watering with anything but soaker hoses during specified hours will be banned under an ordinance approved Friday by trustees of the Clinton Public Works Authority meeting in emergency session.
That means the once-a-week sprinkler type watering that has been allowed previously this summer is now taboo, effective immediately. Also, no exceptions were made for hand watering, which also had been permitted under the old water restrictions.
The new restrictions apply only to water coming from municipal sources. People with private wells may continue to use them as they wish, but Interim City Manager Lisa Anders asked anyone with such a well who’s not already on the city’s list of private well owners to contact the City Water Department immediately so police will know whether to stop when they see outside watering being done. The Water Department number is 323-0217.
