News Alert: Double fatality collision

Two people are dead after a multi-vehicle accident late Friday afternoon On U.S. Highway 183, approximately two miles north of Arapaho. Both Shaun Derek Elston, 24, Clinton, and Gary Leon Cordes, 60, Minot, N.D., were pronounced dead at the scene due to massive bodily injuries as a result of a three-vehicle accident at approximately 4:50 p.m. Friday according to a report filed by Trooper Daniel Mosburg of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Also injured in the collision was a 13-year-old boy of Wolfforth, Texas, who was riding in the pickup driven by Cordes. He was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was listed in stable condition. Kenn Drew Sipe, 70, Gage, was driving the third vehicle and was not injured. According to Mosburg’s report, Elston was traveling southbound on 183 when his vehicle came up behind the pickup driven by Sipe. Sipe moved to the right to avoid being rear ended and Elston’s car struck Sipe’s truck and went left of center, striking Cordes’ truck head on
