New manager wades into water issues
New Clinton City Manager Mark Skiles will face a full agenda when he attends his first City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. today.
Skiles wasted no time getting involved Monday, less than 72 hours after being hired. Following a busy morning that included one water session, he met at 2 p.m. with representatives of Severn Trent
Services about the water situation that consumed much of his predecessor’s three years on the job here.
Water also is prominent on this evening’s agenda for the Public Works Authority, whose trustees double as members of the City Council. After an update from Severn Trent on its search for water on the city’s behalf, the trustees will consider a lease of water rights west of town.
