Meals on Wheels program has met end of road
After 38 years of tending to the daily dietary needs of the Clinton area’s shut-in residents and those who are handicapped, the Meals on Wheels (MOW) program will suspend operations as of June 2, chairman Georgine Jackson said.
Mrs. Jackson said, “Recently, the meal count has dropped, and there are now other options for our community needs. May is the last month for MOW delivery.”
MOW began lunchtime hot meal delivery five days a week in 1976, utilizing an army of volunteers from many churches and organizations to visit clients’ homes.
