McGee trial planned for Dec. 9 start
Tucker McGee’s trial for first-degree murder was set Monday for Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
District Judge Doug Haught set the trial date at the 19-year-old’s arraignment following a June 30 preliminary hearing at which Associate District Judge Jill Weedon found there was sufficient probable cause for him to stand trial for the murder of JaRay Wilson. The 16-year-old Weatherford girl disappeared in November of 2012, and her fate wasn’t known until a friend of McGee’s who said he helped bury her body led authorities to the shallow gravesite on Dec. 17, 2013.
Monday’s arraignment lasted only about two minutes.
Speaking softly in response to questions from Judge Haught, McGee formally entered a plea of not guilty. That was after stating that he is 19 years old, from Weatherford, can read and write, and had read information in the charge against him.
