Man with violent past jailed again
A man convicted of beating another young man nearly to death in 1994 was arrested recently outside the Clinton police station after his girlfriend flagged down an officer and told him he had struck her several times.
The suspect is Rolland Cuesta Garner, now 49, of Clinton. Police said he was formerly known as Roland Quester Prowell but apparently has changed his name.
Garner has an extended history of violent crime. Just since the 1994 Custer County conviction when he was 28 or 29 years old, he was convicted in 2009 in Oklahoma County of “domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm.”
