A pleasure to use compared to the old microfilm readers is the digitized Scan Pro 2000 computerized equipment located at the front desk at the Clinton Public Library. An even larger computer monitor is scheduled to be installed by next week. Admiring the machine purchased through the efforts of the Clinton Friends of the Library are, from left, Theresa Simmons, library staff; Mona Glasscock, Friends president; and head librarian Kathy Atchley.

Library Friends invites potential new members to annual meeting

In conjunction with the group’s annual meeting set for 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Clinton Public Library, 721 Frisco Ave., the Friends of the Clinton Library touted one of its most recent major purchases for the library — a Scan Pro 2000 microfilm reader.
At the March 26 meeting a board of directors will be elected. The Friends is a non-profit organization created in the 1990s to support and help the local library. It has purchased items to benefit all library patrons and supported summer reading activities and programs for adults and children.
The next goal of the group is to replace some of the library furnishings that are over 20 years old.
