Three brush trucks and a tanker were moved into Clinton’s new fire station Friday, nearly a year after firemen had hoped they’d be calling it home. “It feels good to start the move,” Chief Randy Carpenter said. Still, it could be March before the move is complete.

House fire snuffed without big damage

Clinton firemen were able to save a house Saturday night at 206 S. Second Street but not before the blaze did some damage.
Battalion Chief Billy Challis said the fire was kept isolated to the west side of the house. He said flames appeared to have started in front of the kitchen sink and worked their way up a wall into the attic.
