Hospitality firm looking at golf course

In an effort to make the Riverside Golf Course more self-sustaining and attract more players, City Manager Steve Hewitt has hired a Florida marketing firm to do a 90-day examination and analysis of the course and its membership.

Three Oaks Hospitality of Boca Raton, Fla., has already completed a 30-day information-gathering period. It now will spend the month of May analyzing the information, getting input from club members, looking at competitor courses, and beginning a sales and marketing report along with a financial forecast.

Company president Michael Padden told the Clinton Golf Advisory Board in a progress report Wednesday that he and/or his colleagues will return at the end of June and make both oral and written presentations of their findings and recommendations.
