Hospital nixes hearing, hints at new filing
CORDELL – Thursday’s scheduled hearing on the Cordell Memorial Hospital sales tax issue was cancelled after the hospital’s lawyer, former Oklahoma attorney general Drew Edmondson, requested that it be stricken from the docket.
That, however, does not mean court action regarding the hospital and its financial support is over.
“The only purpose to have that hearing would have been to try to stop the certification of the vote,” Edmondson said Thursday, speaking by phone from his Oklahoma City office. “That hearing would have been very important if both sales taxes had passed.”
