Hewitt resigning as city manager
Just minutes after getting a positive vote on what may turn out to be the biggest accomplishment of his three years as the leader of Clinton’s municipal government, Steve Hewitt stunned a good-sized crowd Tuesday evening by announcing his resignation as city manager effective June 6.
Hewitt said Wednesday he will become the director of administration for the Kansas Turnpike Authority with his office in Wichita.
“Sometimes in life you get opportunities . . . and it’s best for your family,” he said, indicating this was one of them.
