Guilty plea entered to stabbing
Jamie Thompson, 24, of Clinton, pled guilty Thursday to first-degree manslaughter in the stabbing death of a man with whom she was living and had had a child.
She was sentenced to one year in the Custer County Jail, but Undersheriff Kenneth Tidwell said she could be released as early as Sept. 2 if she continues to maintain a good jail record.
Christopher Bailey, 29, was pronounced dead at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital the morning of Jan. 14 this year after Ms. Thompson drove him there. A Clinton police detective said he appeared to have been stabbed once in the chest and once in the side of the face, the latter thrust also appearing to have penetrated his lower neck.
