Foss, rodeo, ‘Pan,’ fraud events set

The dog days of summer never seem to last long around the Clinton area, and they’re going to end with a bang by the end of this week when a series of big extravaganzas will begin. Here’s a brief look at what’s coming up to spark everyone’s summer:

   Christmas In July

Beginning Friday, vendors will be in place at 1 p.m. and the opening ceremony to honor veterans and current military will be at 6 p.m. at the main stage above the marina at Foss Lake for the annual Christmas in July festival.

   “Peter Pan Jr.”

The show will take the historic local stage for four shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 18; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19; and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20.

   Rodeo Days

The 67th annual Clinton Roundup Club Rodeo will ride into town for three performances Thursday through Saturday, July 24-26, featuring a brand new Clinton Chamber of Commerce event called “Find It on Frisco” Flea Market that Saturday.

   Fraud Conference

The Oklahoma Insurance Dept. Medicare Assistance Program will be bringing a conference on senior citizen fraud for the general public to the Frisco Conference Center, 101 S. Fourth St. (U.S. Highway 183) in Clinton on Tuesday, July 29.
