Fire station, water issues on City Council agenda
Cracked concrete in part of Clinton’s new fire station may be covered with ceramic tile.
That’s the solution city councilmen will consider when they meet in regular session at 5:30 this evening.
City Manager Steve Hewitt said Monday that defects in the concrete poured during the fire station’s extended construction period are only “cosmetic” and not structural, as determined by the structural engineer for the project. However, he added in a written note to councilmen that they are not acceptable under the project contract and under specifications.
