Fire station open; first run made
Clinton firemen inaugurated their new fire station Monday, responding to an alarm at the Holiday Inn Express. But it wasn’t for a fire; rather, a third-floor sprinkler pipe broke and employees needed help turning off the water, which firemen were happy to do.
The move to the new $4.8-million fire station (including non-construction costs) was officially made this week, just over 18 months from the day the first dirt was moved in August of 2012.
An open house for the public was held last night following that evening’s City Council meeting. Another open house, also for the public, is scheduled April 5.
