Disposal well could be part of water plan
Clinton could one day have not only a new in-town water treatment plant but also a deep disposal well to get rid of wastes removed during the treatment process, it was indicated at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
“We’re looking at everything. Everything’s on the table, from deep well disposal to evaporation,” said Brian Meier, an engineer for Burns & McDonnell, during an update to the council a little past the midway point of Phase 1 in the city’s search for new water sources.
Meier made his comment in response to a question from Mayor Seth Adams about whether the five-company team doing the search was looking at a disposal well.
