Cordell hospital fighting back
Cordell Memorial Hospital plans to challenge in court the validity of actions taken by Washita County commissioners last week in voting to cancel the results of a scheduled June 24 sales tax election to support the hospital.
In a press release issued Tuesday by the hospital, administrator Charlie Greene said the sales tax is vital to its continued operation.
“We are encouraging everyone to go to the polls on June 24 and vote ‘Yes’ on the hospital sales tax question,” the press release quoted him as stating. “It is our belief our votes will be counted, meaning the hospital will be able to continue to provide excellent health care to all county residents.”
