Clinton sale barn a victim in bad-check scheme
A Clinton company is one of 12 victims named in a bogus-check scam preying on Oklahoma livestock auction barns.
The Clinton Livestock Auction is alleged to have received a check Jan. 7 from Neva Heath for $2,710.25 as payment for four head of cattle. The check later was determined to be worthless.
Mrs. Heath, 50, and her estranged husband, Barry Lynn Heath Jr., 44, have been charged with 12 felony counts and one misdemeanor by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office. All 13 counts apparently were filed in each of the counties where victims are located.
