City Council says no to golf fee hike
Membership rates at Clinton’s city-owned Riverside Golf Course will continue as they are after city councilmen rejected increases proposed by City Manager Steve Hewitt and the city’s Golf Advisory Board. Hewitt said the increases would have been the first since 2010.
Councilman Jason Hulin took the lead in opposing the proposed hikes. He didn’t think it would be wise to raise rates during a time of declining play at the course.
After about 25 minutes of discussion Hulin made a motion to leave rates as they are and to even look at potentially lowering them. Don Rodolph seconded, and they were joined in the vote by Wheeler Lowry and Mustafa Sami. Mayor Seth Adams voted no.
