Burn ban extended in county
With Custer County once again failing to get anything except high winds and dust out of a storm front that crossed through over the weekend, county commissioners voted unanimously Monday morning to renew the county’s burn ban for 30 more days. It had been scheduled to expire tomorrow, on the last day of April.
Monday’s action will extend it until May 28, or until commissioners rescind it. Or they may extend it again.
As passed, the resolution contains an amendment originally added two weeks ago which allows controlled burns on federal lands “when conducted under the federal prescribed burn rules and regulations.”
