Area troopers aid in drowning search

   Local troopers Sam Shelton and Gary Smith, along with Trooper George Hoyle of Hobart, investigated a double drowning incident which occurred Tuesday at Lake Evans Chambers in Beaver County.

   They also conducted an extensive search for one of the victims, a 5-year-old boy, whose body wasn’t recovered until early Thursday morning, some 36 hours after he disappeared.

   The victims were identified as Betty Jean McManaway, 48, and Aiden Hammock Thompson, both of Beaver, a small town in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
