$2-million bond set for Humphreys
This time, Stoney Humphreys may not be back on the streets so soon. He’s apparently going to spend a little time in the hospital and a lot more in jail.
Sheriff Bruce Peoples said Monday Humphreys’ jaw was broken in three places and his nose also was broken in the fight early Sunday morning that resulted in stab and/or cut wounds to three men he was fighting.
Then Monday, Associate District Judge Jill Weedon set bond for Humphreys at $1 million in that case and tacked on another $1 million for a misdemeanor also filed Monday. It was for malicious injury to property, the property being the front door glass of the same house where the fight occurred.
Court records allege that the 37-year-old Humphreys broke the glass out of the door last Thursday, April 3. Capt. Mike Murley of the Clinton Police Department said the suspect’s girlfriend, or former girlfriend, Mandy Diaz, lived in the house with her mother, Sandy Lawrence, who had forbidden him to see her daughter.
