Nazarene Church steeple has arrived
Clinton First Church of the Nazarene has received its steeple for the new worship center to be built on S. 28th Street just south of Acme Brick Park. The steeple was picked up by church pastor Gordon Bennett at Roanoke, Ala. for the trip to its new home, a total journey of 2,600 miles. While some dirt work has begun on the property, construction on the new church is scheduled to start in early July. The Fiberglas steeple stands 28 feet tall and weighs 750 pounds. The steeple was paid for as a memorial by a family in the church. Construction is being delayed while the church hosts Vacation Bible School for all ages from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday nights in June.
