This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster being polished by owner Mike Perkins can literally stop traffic. The soft-top sports a 327 cubic inch V-8 engine and has a 4-on-the-floor shifter. Perkins plans to enter it in the May 24 Clinton Route 66 Festival car show set to begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Clinton.

Three musical shows set for 66 Festival

Get those creampuffs shined up. Clinton’s Route 66 Festival is just weeks away. While it likely won’t be nearly as large as last year’s festival, held in conjunction with the Clinton High School all-class alumni reunion, Clinton Chamber of Commerce President Julie Menge said the event will have a number of attractions to bring folks to town.

The festival will be a day-long affair on Saturday, May 24, all centered around downtown. Three different musical showcases are planned for the event. At 1 p.m., a “Clinton’s Got Talent” show is planned in the Pepsi Events Center, 508 Frisco Ave. Entertainer wannabes from around the area can sign up either at the Chamber offices in back of the Frisco Center or else at Wright Radio.
