The Oranje Trophy motorcycle and 4-wheeler group from Holland stopped off recently at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum on its way from New York City to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where they will be cheering on Holland’s World Cup soccer team. The oldest of the group is 72 while the youngest is 20. These motorcyclists are, from left, Tamita Rosier from Drachten in the Holland province of Friesland, Hans Fuchs from the city of Eindhoven, and Jan Wouda from the city of Krommenie.

Oranje Trophy group visits museum

A 53-bike and 4-wheeler Oranje Trophy group from Holland recently paid a visit to the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum. The group was on its way from New York City down Route 66 to Santa Monica, Calif., and then south to Sao Paul, Brazil, where it was going to cheer on Holland’s soccer team in the World Cup competition. Peter Commandeur and his wife, Fransje, were making the trip in this compressed natural gas-powered Fiat featuring a two-cylinder engine that gets 50 miles per gallon. They left New York March 23 and expect to be in Brazil June 23.
