Clinton resident Elia Medina, 41, is facing a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after allegedly throwing a knife at her daughter and hitting her in the thumb.

She also allegedly pressed the knife against her daughter’s neck and told her she hoped she died.

After 25 years with the Clinton Fire Department, Chief Randy Carpenter will be hanging up his gear at the end of January. He made his retirement announcement Saturday night at the department’s annual Christmas meal.
