Water from the Dixon well has met all its required quality tests to become part of Clinton’s municipal water supply, Public Works Director Donald Webb said Friday.

A $500 rifle stolen June 2 in a series of auto burglaries has been recovered, but Clinton police are still working a house burglary that occurred last Saturday in which goods valued at more than $4,000 were taken.

Sixty-two vacuum-sealed bundles of suspected marijuana, each weighing about a pound, were confiscated July 5 from a car stopped by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on Interstate 40 in Clinton.

The driver, 41-year-old Robert Harwood of Covington, Ga., was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs.



As the daughter of a Clinton High coach, former Lady Reds basketball standout Jennifer Williams was on the receiving end of more coaching lessons back at home once the games were done.


After, by his own estimation, 41 years, one month and one week in the pulpit of the First Church of God, Roy Dobbs told his Church Council and congregation Sunday that he is retiring.
